WATCH: Texans S Justin Reid picks off Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence

Houston Texans safety Justin Reid was able to get a quick takeaway from Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Houston Texans safety Justin Reid got the first takeaway of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday at NRG Stadium.

The former 2018 third-round pick intercepted a pass from rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence and returned it to the Jacksonville 49-yard line.

On Sept. 9, Reid said that he didn’t watch the rookie’s tape from Clemson as much as he did his performances in preseason as well as a little bit of offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell’s work with the Detroit Lions.

“I’ve watched more Trevor Lawrence in his preseason games and I’ve focused more on the offensive coordinator’s schemes, coming from Detroit, and what he is used to more than Trevor Lawrence himself,” Reid said. “But we know the kid is talents, we know he has an arm, we know he has legs. We saw that in the preseason games.”
