Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson didn’t get a chance to have an offseason program to develop chemistry with new receiver Brandin Cooks, but they made the time.
And it shows.
According to a video from the Texans’ official Twitter account, Watson connected with Cooks during team portion of training camp practice on Aug. 23. The ease and comfort that Watson displayed in delivering the ball to Cooks indicates they have some cohesion in the passing game.
“I think one of the important things this offseason was figuring out a time and way to be able to get together at least a couple of times in the midst of everything that’s going on,” Cooks told reporters on Aug. 6. “I think he did a great job of that, getting the guys together.”

If the Texans can carry over the connection between Watson and Cooks into the regular season, then it should put defenses into plenty of conflict throughout 2020.
