After Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown revealed on Tuesday that he would indeed be sticking with No. 11 after Julio Jones declined to take it, we now know what number the veteran will wear.
The Titans released a video on social media showing that Jones will wear the No. 2, which comes as a bit of a surprise after it was widely speculated that Jones could go with No. 8, the same digit he wore at Alabama.
Making it more surprising is that Jones could have easily had No. 8, as it is currently owned by 2021 undrafted free agent signing. punter James Smith.
Along with the video, the Titans revealed a rendering of Jones donning his No. 2 jersey:

Jim Wyatt of Titans Online hinted that Jones may have come up with his new number simply by adding the digits of his old one: 1 + 1 = 2.
Jones, who spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the Atlanta Falcons, made his first comments since the trade to Tennessee in a statement released on social media on Tuesday.
We could get our first look at Jones on a practice field during the Titans’ upcoming mandatory minicamp, which runs from June 15-17. A Zoom presser with the media should also be in store in the coming days.
