Saturday night’s exhibition game against the Nigerian Men’s National Team did not go very well for Team USA, with the U.S. dropping the friendly 90 to 87 due to some aggressive play and hot shooting by Nigeria. It was one of the worst losses in USA Basketball history, but it wasn’t all doom and gloom for the U.S. National Team.
To that point, the play we saw from Boston Celtics All-Star small forward and Olympic first-timer Jayson Tatum was pretty solid, with the St. Louis native turning in a very efficient 15 points and 7 rebounds. Tatum shot a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line, 66.7% from 3-point range and hit 57.1% from the floor overall.
And while one can see all the team USA exhibition games streamed on NBC Boston Sports, for those of you who missed Saturday night’s tilt, Celtics YouTuber Tomasz Kordylewski put together a highlight reel embedded below for your viewing pleasure.

Hopefully, the sting of the loss sees Team USA play with more urgency moving forward.
