PHILADELPHIA–The return of former Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons is here. The 25-year old 3-time All-Star was traded to the Brooklyn Nets back on Feb. 10 in exchange for future Hall of Famer James Harden and now is the time for him to face the Philadelphia crowd for the first time on Thursday.
Simmons will not play in the game as he is dealing with a back issue, but the All-Star will be on the bench and be able to be around the team while facing the wrath of the Sixers fan base. This is the first time he will be in the building since the Game 7 debacle against the Atlanta Hawks in the 2021 playoffs.
As he came onto the court, he was greeted by a big chorus of boos from Sixers fans waiting to pounce on their first opportunity to voice their displeasure for how things were handled recently before the trade.
