The drumbeat to break up Boston Celtics All-Star forwards Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum via trading away one of the pair for some hypothetical ‘better fit’ grows with each avoidable loss the Celtics gift to opponents and threatens to become a cacophony of percussion instruments if things continue down the path they have been on this season and last.
Added to that mix are the hosts of The Ringer “Mismatch” podcast Chris Vernon and Kevin O’Connor, who discussed the Celtics travails of late and whether it makes sense to move one of the two star wings for the storied franchise given their struggles to date.
While we disagree with at least some of what is shared by the pair of Ringer analysts, the hard truth regarding this team is that substantial change is needed soon, or splitting up the Jays may be less of a question and more of a good stewardship imperative for the front office.
Watch the video embedded above to hear what O’Connor and Vernon have to say about trading a Jay away, and try not to get too vexxed by a team that at least so far has disappointed.
