The Seattle Seahawks defense had been struggling mightily in their three-game losing streak. One aspect that shockingly emerged was the fact they were not generating any turnovers. Before Week 7 kicked off, the Seahawks had a grand total of four total takeaways on defense. Almost unheard of for an organization that routinely puts such a premium on takeaways.
All this turned around in a hurry against the Atlanta Falcons. Seattle, traveling back to the east coast for an early window game, took care of business and handled the Falcons with relative ease. Part of what fueled their second-half dominance is the fact they generated an Atlanta turnover on three-consecutive possessions in the fourth quarter.
The Falcons’ final three drives led by starter Kirk Cousins ended with a fumble recovery touchdown, then back-to-back picks. Of course, all three can be viewed in the tweet below, from the Seahawks’ official Twitter account.
Any day when you can practically double your turnover count for a season deserves to be highlighted.
