The Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles are heading into overtime.
With the Eagles leading 31-24, Washington quarterback Sam Howell had 1:43 remaining in the game to lead the Commanders on a game-scoring drive.
He delivered. Facing a third-and-17 at point, Howell found wide receiver Byron Pringle for 15 yards. On the next play, Howell hit wide receiver Dyami Brown for 16 yards and into Eagles’ territory.
Eventually, the Commanders would have a first-and-goal from the 10-yard with only five seconds remaining. There would be just one play, right?
On first down, Howell inexplicably throws to wide receiver Terry McLaurin in the middle of the field. Fortunately, the pass was broken up, and there was one second remaining.
With one second left, Howell found Jahan Dotson for the touchdown, and the game was headed to overtime as head coach Ron Rivera decided to kick the extra point instead of attempting the two-point conversion.

What a performance from Howell.
