WATCH: Rookie Aaron Nesmith ties career high of 16 points vs. Miami Heat

The Vanderbilt product continues to impress.

While a lot of things have not gone the Boston Celtics way in recent days, one bright spot shining extra bright of late has been the play of rookie small forward Aaron Nesmith.

The season started slowly for the former Vanderbilt standout, who needed time to get up to the speed of NBA basketball. It seems he has found his groove at a moment the team truly needs his help. In Sunday afternoon’s loss to the Miami Heat, Nesmith tied his career high of 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 2-of-5 from 3-point range, while going a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.

He pulled down 4 boards while recording an assist and a steal in 19 minutes of floor time with just 2 personal fouls and no turnovers.

The rookie out of Charleston, South Carolina, will not make Boston’s struggles disappear overnight, but he will go a long way toward lightening the load everyone else carries while the Celtics sort things out.
