Watch: Robert Woods beats Terrell Burgess for long TD in practice

Woods and Jared Goff connected for a long touchdown in camp.

Rookies probably won’t experience their “welcome to the NFL” moment until the real games begin, but Terrell Burgess got a taste of what it’s like to cover a pro receiver on Saturday.

The Rams shared a clip from practice where Jared Goff connected with Robert Woods for a long touchdown. In coverage was the rookie Burgess, who could only watch as Woods ran by him for six.

Take a look at the play below.

Burgess is primarily viewed as a safety, but he could also serve as the Rams’ nickel back in the slot. He played there some in college, so he does have experience covering slot receivers.

If he lines up there with the Rams, he’ll be tasked with covering some of the best receivers in the game – including Woods and Cooper Kupp in practice.

He’ll find his footing, but this was one instance where he got beat by a great wideout.
