Boston Celtics big man Robert Williams III must have heard the debate on whether he should be the team’s starting center ahead of the Celtics’ 118 – 108 blowout of the Houston Rockets at TD Garden on Friday night.
Perhaps not, but something seemed to be lifting Timelord’s tardis to the occasion, with the Texas A&M product having a career night against the Rockets with Williams scoring 20 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, a steal and 2 blocks in a near triple-double. The Louisiana native went a perfect 9-of-9 from the floor and 2-of-3 from the free throw line in 26 minutes of playing time, fouling once and turning the ball over precisely 0 times.
We suppose there’s a case for starting Tristan Thompson in some situations, but it just got a whole lot shakier for starting him overall — with no aspersions to the Canadian big man intended.

Watch Timelord’s performance in this route of the Rockets; it’s one of the best yet to have witnessed by the rising Celtics center.
