Have yourself a day, Reid Sinnett!
The Miami Dolphins’ third-string quarterback entered tonight’s contest as the only Dolphins quarterback set to play; leaving the Dolphins with 60 minutes of uninterrupted play from the second-year quarterback and a prime audition window for Sinnett to make his case to stay on the active roster for the start of the regular season.
He didn’t disappoint. Sinnett closed the day with more passing yards in a game than any quarterback for any team this preseason but, more importantly, he engineered a brilliant come from behind win for the Dolphins. Miami defeated the Cincinnati Bengals by a final score of 29-26 and the final points came courtesy of some late game magic from Sinnett’s legs and right arm.
Facing 4th and 15, Sinnett dropped back to pass and was immediately greeted with pressure from his right, forcing him to spin away from the line of scrimmage to extend the play and boot to his right. As he gathered himself to work back into the line of scrimmage with his momentum, Sinnett unleashed a ball into the endzone right near the front pylon.
And, well. We’ll let you see it for yourself.

Tight end Chris Myarick managed to secure a foot and a knee in bounds before falling out of bounds, pushing the Dolphins ahead and completing a 12-point fourth-quarter comeback with Sinnett at the helm. As the young quarterback looks to further forge his opportunities in the NFL, this is a game that can go at the top of his resume in a bid to convince teams he’s ready for more.
But the Dolphins will have every opportunity to keep ahold of him and we should expect that to be the case one way or another later this week when the roster cuts come down and practice squads are set.
