The New Orleans Saints defense put up a gem of a performance against the New England Patriots in Week 5 en route to improving to 3-2 on the season. Among the players that had nice days was Pete Werner as he came away with his first career interception. Rookie safety Jordan Howden had a nice play on the ball that assisted him.
The third-year linebacker out of Ohio State has had a great start to the season, as he leads the team in tackles with 34 so far. With Demario Davis aging, the defense will need Werner to step up as a leader and adding some consistency in the different parts of his game outside of run defense. A interception is certainly a step in the right direction.
