WATCH: Payton Pritchard scores career-high 28 points vs. Thunder (4/27)

Celtics rookie Payton Pritchard scores career-high 28 points in loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

One of the very few bright spots for the Celtics in Tuesday night’s disappointing 119-115 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder was the performance from rookie Payton Pritchard.

Pritchard scored a career-high 28 points along with 3 rebounds and 4 assists on 9-of-16 shooting from the field.

With Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker out, the rookie stepped up alongside All-Star Jaylen Brown to keep the Celtics within range before ultimately falling short.

Pritchard, who signed a shoe deal with Nike this week, has proven a vital piece to the Celtics puzzle coming off the bench. Come playoff time, Boston will need the rookie to be effective if the Celtics are to make some noise.
