To be fair the Washington coverage was tough, here. There might have been a chance to squeeze one in to tight end Ian Thomas at the top but it would have been a very tight window, and Bridgewater simply prefers not to tempt fate on those.
We can call this a coverage sack. It’s also part of a frustrating trend of Bridgewater going off the rails any time the prescribed play breaks down.
If Carolina picks a QB early in the draft, their ability to operate outside of structure has to be key.
