WATCH: Overreacting to Boston Celtics preseason play, a time-honored tradition

What’s signal vs. noise in the smallest of small sample sizes?

What would a preseason game be if not something to speculate wildly on in the context of the smallest sample size available? And so it goes with the Boston Celtics come-from-behind win over the Orlando Magic at TD Garden this past Monday night.

In a game iced by third-year wing Romeo Langford that saw new Celtics forward Juancho Hernangomez start, rising big man Robert Williams III shooting plenty of mid-range jumpers and Enes Kanter switching onto guards while the rest of the team switched onto, well, everyone, it’s safe to say we probably can’t expect too much of what we saw against the Magic in even Game 1 of the regular season.

But hosts of the CLNS Media podcast “Celtics Stuff Live” Justin Poulin and John Duke debated what we can expect to learn from the very first contest under new head coach Ime Udoka.

Watch the video embedded above to hear what these two Celtics podcasting OGs have to say about their limited data on which they attempt to prognosticate a bit about the Boston season to come.
