For years now, the entire NFL has been shifting further and further in favor of offenses. The league wants points and exciting shootouts. But as you have likely noticed, scoring has not exactly been all that explosive thus far in 2023.
Sure, there are teams like the Miami Dolphins or Los Angeles Chargers who don’t seem to break a sweat when reaching the 30-point threshold. But for typical high-flying offenses like the Kansas City Chiefs or Philadelphia Eagles, points seem to be coming at a premium these days. Even the Seattle Seahawks, who had one of the better offenses last year, seem to be stuck in neutral as of late.
ESPN’s NFL Live crew has certainly noticed, and they took the time to discuss this issue at length earlier this week.
Favorite conversation of the year so far.
