WATCH: New Celtics guard Dennis Schroder ‘just happy to be here’ in Boston

The former Sixth Man of the Year candidate is excited to get on the court for Boston.

For all the handwringing about new Boston Celtics guard Dennis Schroder‘s potential to disrupt things chasing the bag he fumbled in free agency on the court, his actions since inking a one-year “prove-it” deal with the Celtics this offseason have shown humility and an apparent earnest desire to contribute to winning basketball more than anything else.

And such was the vibe exuded by the German floor general at Boston’s 2021 Media Day proceedings, with Schroder relating his excitement to sign with the Celtics and play alongside rising star forwards Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum in the coming season. The former Los Angeles Laker said “I’m just happy to be here. I’ll do whatever it takes to win,” surely music to the ears of many a Celtics fan.
