Jeff Teague may be the newest veteran point guard on the Boston Celtics’ roster, but he played like it’s a post he’s held for years — precisely why the team’s front office elected to bring on the former Atlanta Hawk.
With 12 seasons’ experience to his resumé, Teague was every bit the calm and collected floor general the Celtics need to keep the ship running smoothly in Kemba Walker’s absence, which may extend well into January as he rehabilitates an often-balky knee. The Wake Forest product was the picture of efficiency in his stead on Tuesday’s preseason opener vs. the Philadelphia 76ers, shooting a sizzling 7-of-9 overall and a perfect 4-of-4 from beyond the arc.

If you haven’t already — or just want to revisit Teague’s debut — watch the video produced by Tomasz Kordylewski embedded above.
We’ll get another chance to see the Indiana native again this Friday, Dec. 19 at 8 pm ET, but this ought to help tide you over until then.
