Mike Brey has taken a very hands-on approach to the Notre Dame student body lately. Twice this month, he has gone to Notre Dame dining halls to promote upcoming home games. This is all part of an effort to drum up attendance for a team that has lost only one game over the past month. The students came out in droves for the Irish’s game against NC State, and Brey was there to greet them:

After the Irish defeated the Wolfpack, Brey let loose further, even helping hold the McLovin flag that students had brought to their section (albeit upside-down). South Bend native Blake Wesley saw how much fun everyone was having and decided to join in:

This team is becoming fun to follow, and Brey is at the forefront of making it fun. One would have thought someone like him would feel he’s above these things, but that’s not the case. The Irish need to make the NCAA Tournament if for no other reason than to see what else Brey will do.
