Watch: Mic’d-up Jared Verse fires up Rams defense, talks non-stop in practice

Jared Verse was mic’d up for practice this week and his fire on the field is unmatched, especially for a rookie

Jared Verse may only be a rookie, but there’s no question he’s going to be one of the vocal leaders on the Rams’ defense this season. Sean McVay loved his attitude in the pre-draft process and it’s already showing in training camp.

Verse was mic’d up during practice this week and he’s a certified trash-talker. He was talking some trash to Blake Corum early in camp and in this latest video, he had the defense fired up after just about every play.

“Mind your business, man! Mind your business!” he yelled to an opposing offensive player at one point.

He was happy to make a tackle for a loss with Ernest Jones in the backfield, too, something he hopes to do often this season.

“Hey Ern, I like meeting you there. I like meeting you there. We’re going to do that a lot. We’re going to do that a lot,” Verse said to Jones.

He dropped into coverage on one play and afterwards, he told the defensive backs that he wanted to join them. Jones wasn’t having it, though.

“Go back down there,” Jones said, to which Verse replied: “You’re a linebacker like me. Come down with me.”

Verse is a trash-talker and it’s only going to get better when he hits the field against other teams.
