WATCH: Max Christie explains decision to remain in NBA Draft, leave MSU early

Hear why Max Christie elected to remain in the NBA Draft and leave Michigan State early

News broke this week on Max Christie officially confirming his time at Michigan State is over, and on Thursday we got some more reasoning behind his decision to remain in the NBA Draft.

Christie is currently participating in he NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, and on Thursday he met with the media. One of the questions he answered was related to why he elected to remain in the NBA Draft after just one year at Michigan State. Here’s what he had to say:

This past season, Christie averaged 9.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He started all 35 games he appeared in for the Spartans.

Christie is projected to be a late first-round to early second-round pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. So it was surprising to some why he elected to not come back for another year at Michigan State. However, as Christie made clear on Thursday he’s betting on himself and is confident he’ll make in the league.
