WATCH: Marcus Smart puts up 19 points, 6 assists vs Brooklyn Nets in Game 2 loss

If there was a positive to take from this game, Marcus Smart’s play was probably it.

The Boston Celtics fell flat in Game 2 of their series against the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs, with the Nets dominating almost wire-to-wire with a 130 – 108 drubbing of the Celtics at Barclays Center Tuesday night.

There were few positives to take home from this game for Boston, but veteran guard Marcus Smart was definitely among them, with his third-quarter offensive eruption one of the only things keeping the Celtics from a historic loss at the hands of the Nets. The Flower Mound native put up 19 points and 6 assists in the loss, much of it in the second half and via 3-pointers.

Smart hit 5-of-8 of his shots from beyond the arc against Brooklyn, but it simply wasn’t enough against one of the better offenses the NBA has seen in recent years — if not ever.
