While Bleacher Report’s famous, hilarious and successful ‘Game of Zones’ series has come to a close, a new contender series appears to have stepped up in its place. On Friday, the third episode of ‘Role Players’ debuted and featured a heavy dose of New Orleans Pelicans.
Parodying ‘The Mandalorian’ the premise of the episode was LeBron James ordering Anthony Davis to save Zion Williamson from Naboo Orleans.
Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart’s appearance sees them unsuccessfully try to stop Davis. Ball’s inaccuracy as a shooter is used as a punchline after he misses Davis with his gun.
Eventually, Davis tries to save Williamson from James before being confronted by James himself. A whole host of cameos follow from Kawhi Leonard to Doc Rivers to Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.
In all, it’s a hilarious episode, even if the Pelicans are the butt of multiple jokes. Ball and the fellow former Baby Lakers were featured multiple times in Game of Zones in the past and, unsurprisingly, were the butt of the jokes then, too.
Never complete, the Lakers superteam is. Forever fighting to restore the franchise, they are 🛸
