WATCH: Lonzo Ball flirts with triple-double against Lakers

While LeBron James and Zion Williamson stole the show on Sunday evening, Lonzo Ball pieced together a near triple-double for the Pelicans.

The New Orleans Pelicans fell on Sunday night to the Los Angeles Lakers for the fourth and final time of the regular season, 122-114. While Zion Williamson and LeBron James stole the show with dueling 30-point efforts, the latter also notching a triple-double, Lonzo Ball quietly pieced together a near triple-double of his own.

Ball finished the night with 19 points, nine assists and nine rebounds to go with three steals. His scoring came despite going 1-of-7 from beyond the arc as he finished 6-of-8 inside the three-point line in the loss.

The nine assists continues a long run of strong outings as a playmaker for Ball. Dating back to Dec. 29, Ball is averaging 8.7 assists. The only players in that time span to average more assists are LeBron James (10.5) and Trae Young (10.8).

Over that same span, Ball is averaging 13.1 points and 7.2 rebounds while shooting 37.6% from three-point range.
