Drake provided his fans with new music during the global lockdown heading into last weekend. His new single “Toosie Slide” has already become a hit both on the radio and across social media. Designed almost specifically for Tik Tok and Instagram dance videos, fans across the world have given their rendition of the dance.
The chorus provides fairly basic while also artistically vague instructions:
It go right foot up, left foot, slide
Left foot up, right foot, slide
Basically, I’m sayin’ either way, we ’bout to slide, ayy
Can’t let this one slide, ayy
Like seemingly everyone else, Lonzo Ball gave his best shot at dancing to the song, as posted on his Instagram on Sunday.
Ball definitely takes the cake as the best dancer of the group, taking a chance to break out the Michael Jackson impersonation as well and an impressive one at that. He’s never been one to shy away from an opportunity to dance for the camera, even if his moves were not always the best.
Drake has also long been listed as one of Lonzo and LaMelo’s favorite rap artists. Memorably, he included Drake in his list of top five rappers, a list that drew the ire of many. But more hilariously, he’s also acknowledged that he and the Canadian-born rapper also look alike as well.
