For the second game running, Lonzo Ball put on a shooting clinic from range for the New Orleans Pelicans. Unfortunately, for the second game running, though, the performance came in a losing effort.
Ball started off Wednesday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks red hot from the field, hitting four of his five three-pointers inside the opening 14 minutes of the game. He would go on to finish the game with seven three-pointers, the second consecutive game in which he tied his career-high in three-pointers.
He finished the night with 25 points, his second consecutive game with at least 25 points as well. It marks the first time in his career that he’s scored at least 25 points in consecutive games.
Ball also finished with 11 rebounds, six assists and two steals on the night as well. He corralled the final rebound of regulation to help the Pelicans force overtime after a miracle Nicolo Melli three-pointer with under 10 seconds to go tied the game in regulation.
Over his last two games, Ball is now shooting 14-of-21 from three. Over his last seven games, he’s shooting 46.7% on 45 attempts. Over his last 15 games, he’s shooting 42-of-97 from three-point range, or 43.3%.
