Jahmyr Gibbs only spent one season with the Crimson Tide program after transferring in from Georgia Tech in 2022. His speed and elusiveness as a ball carrier made him a great running back, but his pass-catching abilities were what set him apart from the rest.
The Detroit Lions selected Gibbs No. 12 overall in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft, which was a lot sooner than many had predicted. However, his versatility and various skill sets are already shining through in preseason practices and fans are getting a chance to see that.
In a few clips shared to Twitter, Gibbs can be seen running short routes and catching passes. The Lions offense of 2022 was actually very impressive, though the record from last season may not reflect that. Adding Gibbs gives it a significant boost.
