Watch: LeBron James calls Derrick Henry his ‘favorite player in the NFL’

Much respect, from one “King” to another.

During an alternate “Thursday Night Football” broadcast of the game between the Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers, NBA superstar, LeBron James, commentated on the game alongside members of his show, “The Shop“, and heaped praise on running back Derrick Henry.

The basketball legend marveled at Derrick Henry’ rare ability to combine size, speed, and power as a ball carrier. James even goes as far as saying Henry is his “favorite player in the NFL.”

He was then asked what makes the legendary running back so special in his personal opinion, and he actually gave a relatively elaborate answer.

“What makes him my favorite player? I mean, for years, they always used to say that running backs that size or that tall couldn’t survive, and obviously Eric Dickerson kind of changed that, too,” James explained. “But then came King Henry, changed that in a whole other fashion. Not only is he as tall as Eric Dickerson, but he’s also built like a linebacker. He can run between the tackles, outside of tackles, and when he gets on the edge, it’s either going to be a stiff arm or he’s going to run around you.”

The day after the game, Henry became aware of James’ comments and publicly offered his appreciation to the four-time NBA champion.

Needless to say, it’s a pretty safe assumption that these two “Kings” of their respective sports have rightfully developed a mutual respect for one another.
