LaMelo Ball continues to find his groove in the National Basketball League and continues to one-up his performances in the process. In Sunday’s contest against the Cairns Taipans, LaMelo Ball had a historic night, becoming the youngest player in league history to record a triple-double.
But that wasn’t his only highlight of the night. Despite leading for much of the contest, the Hawks found themselves down late. After a late steal and pass that led to a pair of free throws to cut the deficit to three points, Ball hit the biggest bucket of his season.
The Next Star took a feed from Sunday Dech in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter and splashed home a three-pointer with 5.0 seconds left, eventually forcing overtime.

The basket was the 28th points of Ball’s historic night and none were bigger on the night. After his slow start to the season, Ball has found his groove and is showing out, strengthening his case to be the top pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
