So said the former Celtic of his replacement, the UConn product having joined Boston on Irving’s decampment from Boston to link up with superstar forward Kevin Durant in Brooklyn in the summer of 2019. “That’s my matchup,” he added in reference to the two floor generals’ pending collision in the first round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs. “I want K-Walk; that’s my big bro … you know we have a lot of respect, but I know everybody wants to see it out of New York [and] New Jersey.”
“Every time we play against each other, it’s always a game,” he added.
