Watch: Kyle Monangai goes to town with a 55-yard rushing touchdown

Kyle Monangai got an important touchdown for Rutgers football in the fourth quarter.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — On the first play of Rutgers football’s opening possession of the game, Kyle Monangai set the tone with a 19-yard touchdown run. Then in the fourth quarter, Monangai came up big again.

Monangai’s 55-yard touchdown run was an important cushion for his team, giving the Scarlet Knights a 28-16 lead with 10:41 left in the fourth quarter.

The run from Monangai was untouched, making a cut after receiving the handoff and going around the left side of the offensive line untouched. It was pure speed from there for Monangai to get into the endzone.

Monangai has been impressive this season, coming into Week 3 with a team-best 214 rushing yards.

On Saturday, he had multiple rushing touchdowns for the first time in his career. He has rushing touchdowns in all three games this season in what has been a greatly expanded role in the Rutgers offense.
