The New England Patriots were trying to stop the Washington Commanders from scoring a touchdown on the final drive of the first half. They did just that with safety Kyle Dugger intercepting Commanders quarterback Sam Howell in the end zone.
The interception ended a drive that lasted 15 plays and 75 yards, while also taking 5:57 off the clock. It was Dugger’s second interception of the season and second in the last two weeks.
Dugger’s contributions over the past couple games have undoubtedly been a spark for a depleted defense looking for stability.

The Patriots will need more clutch plays like the interception from Dugger if they want to secure their third win of the season on Sunday afternoon.
