Former Penn State wide receiver KJ Hamler made a long-awaited return trip to his old stomping grounds in Happy Valley. And he came bearing a gift for Penn State head coach James Franklin.
Penn State shared a quick video of Hamler handing a signed Denver Broncos jersey to his old head coach on Thursday. Judging by the conversation between the two, it sounds as though Franklin has been getting on Hamler for a while to get a signed jersey.
Adding to the comedy is Hamler commenting that he doesn’t think anyone even washed the jersey.
Glad to see you haven't changed, @KJ_Hamler 😆#MadeInHappyValley #WeAre pic.twitter.com/5fqlxaBHUD

Hamler was a member of Penn State’s Class of 2017, but he was forced to sit out his freshman season due to a torn ACL in his final year of high school football. It didn’t take long for Hamler to show he still had a speed advantage though, as he dazzled defenses with his quickness in 2018 and 2019.
Hamler went on to be a second-round draft pick of the Denver Broncos in the 2020 NFL Draft. His rookie season in 2020 ended with 38 receptions for 381 yards and three touchdowns.
Depending on which mock draft you pay attention to, Hamler could soon be joined by a former Penn State teammate. Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons is projected to be drafted by the Broncos in a few popular mock drafts. If that’s the case, hopefully, Parsons won’t keep Franklin waiting as long for the next jersey to add to the collection.
