With Klay Thompson getting a rest day on Sunday, Jordan Poole was elevated into the starting lineup against Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons on the road.
Poole didn’t waste the opportunity to start alongside Steph Curry. The 23-year-old guard caught fire on his way to a season-high 30 points on 10-of-21 shooting from the field. Poole dropped in a game-high five triples to go along with four assists, three rebounds and two steals.
During the third quarter, Poole put on a show in Detroit. With the defending champs trailing by 19 points, Poole went on a solo tear to single-handedly cut in the Pistons’ lead.
With 7:57 remaining in the third quarter, Poole tallied a barrage of points during a furious sequence. The Michigan product scored 12 consecutive points for the Warriors to clip the Pistons’ lead down to only seven points with 7:05 remaining in the third.
