John Metchie II has stepped up in the absence of Jaylen Waddle. The Alabama receiver has combined with DeVonta Smith and Slade Bolden to give quarterback Mac Jones plenty of options in the passing game against Tennessee.
Late in the second quarter with the score 21-10, Metchie went up and over two defenders, including Vols cornerback Bryce Thompson, for a 45-yard gain that put the ball at the Tennessee two-yard line.
