John Johnson just finished his fourth season in the NFL, which means his rookie contract is set to expire in March. Unless the Rams sign him to an extension before the new league year begins, Johnson will hit the market and test free agency.
In the event that he does leave the Rams, which seems likely at this point, last week’s loss to the Packers will have been Johnson’s final game with Los Angeles. It’s only fitting that he was mic’d up for the playoff matchup.
The Rams shared the mic’d-up video on Twitter and it gives a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on during the game. Johnson was making calls to his teammates on defense, pleading for an offensive pass interference penalty before halftime and leaving the field with his running mates for possibly the last time.
“Appreciate y’all, man,” Johnson said.
“Love you bro. Whatever the future holds, you know I love you, boy,” Jalen Ramsey said.
Michael Brockers also said, I love you, bruh,” as the game was ending after spending the last four years with Johnson.
