The Cleveland Browns have Sunday off after taking care of their business on Thursday Night Football against the Denver Broncos. While the 17 – 14 victory may not inspire a lot of future confidence from the fans, the team found a way to get a victory after a tumultuous week full of injuries and worry.
The star of the show was running back D’Ernest Johnson. Johnson stepped in for starter Nick Chubb and his primary backup Kareem Hunt and showed no drop-off. After a total of three carries this season, and only 33 all of last year, Johnson had 22 rushes for 146 yards and a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, John Johnson III made the biggest play for the defense with his endzone interception. Johnson, brought over in free agency, hasn’t lived up to high expectations so far but made some good plays in this game.
Browns great Joe Thomas joined Nathan Zegura to break down D. Johnson’s first touchdown run and J. Johnson III’s interception:
The little details that former players can pick out always make these videos worth watching. Thomas is obviously passionate about Cleveland and is hopeful for their success. It shows in his presentation.
