It’s probably fitting that some of Boston Celtics All-Star small forward Jayson Tatum’s best plays have come against longtime rival Los Angeles Lakers.
That’s not to say it might not have been awkward for one of the NBA’s biggest Kobe Bryant fans to find himself on his idol’s nemesis, delivering brutal flushes on their heir apparent, LeBron James.
But even apart from those high-profile highlight plays, there’s an impressive body of overall work from the Missouri native stretching all the way back to his rookie season.
The Celtics have split the series of two games a piece against the Western Conference franchise each of Tatum’s three seasons in the league to date.
Surprisingly, the Duke product had a rough start against them in his rookie season, a 5-point game being his best performance of that season against the Lakers.
He’d hang 22 points and 7 boards on Los Angeles the following season, and a whopping 41 points and 5 rebounds the season after, for which Tatum was dubbed “an absolute problem” by James.
Watch the video embedded above for all the best plays of the St. Louis native’s career to date; there’s plenty to see so far.
