If you were to make any complaint against All-Star forward Jayson Tatum in the Boston Celtics’ loss to the Miami Heat on Tuesday night, it is that he did not shoot enough — 11 field goal attempts simply isn’t going to cut it in games against motivated opponents.
But the Duke product managed to hit six of those 11 attempts against the Heat — including two of his five attempts from beyond the arc.
Tatum also was perfect from the charity stripe when fouled by Miami, sinking all nine of his attempts to go with 7 boards, a steal and a block.
While it might not have been the best from the Celtics or the Missouri native, it was still a solid if overly tentative performance by Tatum on a night marred by poor defensive communication and some of the worst shooting from Boston of the season.
