The Los Angeles Rams planned a surprise sack party on Monday night but apparently, no one told Jared Verse. The rookie pass rusher was outstanding in the Rams’ 27-9 win over the Minnesota Vikings but there was a zero in the sack column next to his name.
That’s shocking considering A) he led the team with six pressures, per PFF and B) eight other Rams defenders had at least a half-sack. But somehow, Verse didn’t get in on the fun Monday night.
He joked about it after the game, mentioning how all of his teammates went off except him. Kobie Turner had multiple sacks, Braden Fiske had a sack, Neville Gallimore had 1.5, Byron Young had 1.5 and Ahkello Witherspoon had one, spreading the wealth throughout the game.
“To see Kobie go out there and have two and a half, three sacks – whatever he had – go crazy,” Verse said. “You see Fiske go crazy. Everybody going crazy. Neville go crazy. BY going crazy. Ahkello out there. I’m like, what the hell? It’s a sack party and I am not invited.”

Despite not having a sack, Verse had a huge impact on the game. He returned a fumble 57 yards for a touchdown, had six pressures and made two tackles, constantly drawing double teams from the Vikings.
He’s the Defensive Rookie of the Year frontrunner, too, so he’s got plenty going for him.
