At this point, it’s safe to say the Cincinnati Bengals made the right call with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft.
Ja’Marr Chase has been making huge plays all year long, and he just did it again in Sunday’s huge division matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
On a key third down in the third quarter, Joe Burrow hit Chase with a quick slant to move the chains, but that wasn’t good enough for the rookie pass-catcher. Chase spun out of a would-be tackle, bounced off another defender, and outran the rest of them for an 82-yard score.
Nobody will argue that the Bengals still need to improve their offensive line, but there’s no substitute for elite talent, and that’s exactly what Chase is proving to be.
