It didn’t look good, Toledo marched right down the field and scored the go-ahead touchdown with just 1:51 left on the clock. The question was which quarterback would come out in the clutch situation and the answer was Jack Coan. Brian Kelly bet on experience and won big on this one. The Wisconsin transfer engineered a 3-play, 75-yard touchdown drive helped by a few Rocket penalties for a Notre Dame touchdown.
It seemed like Michael Mayer had been taken out of the game after the first drive but when the Irish needed him the most, he came up with this massive touchdown catch to give the Irish a slim 32-29 lead after they converted the 2-point conversion.
