There has been a third rail for some time now when it comes to talking about improving the Boston Celtics via trade that has made it a risky proposition to even propose the concept of trading All-Star forward Jaylen Brown, but that hot-button issue has increasingly become less of a ridiculous concept for at least some fans in recent weeks with Boston’s up-and-down play of late.
But few if anyone has brought up an even more verboten topic, namely whether the Celtics ought to at least take calls on their other All-Star forward, Jayson Tatum, who could conceivably bring back an even larger package if dealt away.
The host of the NBC Sports Boston podcast “Celtics Talk” Chris Forsberg dares to entertain the notion of what it might mean for Boston if they did pull the trigger on such a deal, but if you happen to be reading this and are a fan of another team, we wouldn’t recommend getting too excited.
It may not make a lick of sense to think about moving the Duke product now for virtually anyone in the league not named Giannis, but is there a world in the not-so-distance future where Boston might need to consider it?
