Ilima-Lei Macfarlane once again delivered a memorable moment ahead of one of her fights on Saturday at Bellator 236.

The walkout wasn’t all for show, though. There was some deep meaning behind it, as ESPN’s Marc Raimondi detailed afterward on social media (via Twitter):
The women on stage during Macfarlane’s walk out were native Hawaiians who are trying to stop a giant telescope from being built on a sacred mountain. Macfarlane has been to the mountain on the Big Island several times over the last few months. #Bellator236

Macfarlane has become an activist over the last few years for indigenous people on the mainland and in Hawaii. She has her own scholarship fund for indigenous girls.
