The Boston Celtics are already a far better version of themselves than they were as a team at the beginning of their 2021-22 NBA season thanks to some shrewd 2022 trade deadline moves by team president Brad Stevens, some effective changes to the team’s rotations by head coach Ime Udoka, and the growth of the players themselves — especially star wings Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
And after a nine-game winning streak including some statement wins over difficult opponents, people are starting to ask the most intriguing of all NBA questions: is this team a title contender, and if not, just how far away from that status are they right now?
The hosts of the CLNS Media “Winning Plays” podcast Brian Robb got together with NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg to talk all things Celtics and contention, as well as to take a more fine-grained view of what the team has done at the trade deadline and on the court since.
Check out the clip embedded above to see what they two have to say about Boston heading into the stretch run.
