The Los Angeles Rams went into Week 1 as 4.5-point underdogs to the Seattle Seahawks but they certainly looked like the better team – and Geno Smith even said afterward that L.A. wanted the win more.
The Rams blew out the Seahawks on the road, 30-13, showing the rest of the football world that they’re likely to remain competitive, even in a year when everyone thinks they’re tanking. Matthew Stafford played a near-perfect game with 334 yards passing and no turnovers, while Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell had 119 yards each in the win.
Not only was it surprising to see the offense play so well without Cooper Kupp, but the defense was outstanding in the second half. Seattle only managed 12 yards and one first down in the final two quarters, with 9 of those yards coming on the last play of the game.
