WATCH: Highlights of new Chiefs QB Jordan Ta’amu

Watch some of the most exciting moments from the career of the Kansas City Chiefs’ newest quarterback.

New Kansas City Chiefs QB Jordan Ta’amu has taken a unique route to the NFL.

He grew up in Pearl City, Hawaii and played for the Pearl City High School Chargers. He’d travel to the continental United States and attend JUCO at the New Mexico Military Institute for two seasons before transferring to the University of Mississippi. He originally was slated to be the backup to Shea Patterson but was thrust into action for the final five games of the season, when Patterson was injured.

Ta’amu entered the 2019 NFL draft and went undrafted. He signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in August but didn’t make it through September roster cuts.

Later that year, Ta’amu would be allocated to the St. Louis BattleHawks in the XFL’s reboot, becoming the first player on the team. Coach and GM Jonathan Hayes built his offense around Ta’amu, which became one of the most efficient in the league through five games.

Below you’ll find highlights of Ta’amu dating back to his time in JUCO and through his time in the XFL. It’ll help give you an idea of the types of plays that he’s most successful on and what the Chiefs are getting in their new quarterback.
