The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had marked Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints on the calendar — and boy, did they deliver.
The Bucs put a drubbing on the Saints on the road, winning the game 26-9 in a three-possession rout. Tampa Bay didn’t stop once it started, with quarterback Baker Mayfield throwing for three touchdowns on the day and the Bucs defense holding the Saints to under 200 yards and no gain longer than 14 yards. The dagger came in the fourth quarter when Mayfield hit Bucs wideout Deven Thompkins in the end zone to ensure the Saints had a tough bus ride back to Airline Drive.
