For the second straight week, the Los Angeles Rams had to come from behind to win a preseason game in the fourth quarter. The game-winning touchdown didn’t come as late as it did in the first preseason tilt against the Cowboys, but Stetson Bennett once again led the Rams to a comeback victory over the Chargers on Saturday.
The Rams moved to 2-0 in the preseason thanks to a 47-yard touchdown pass from Bennett to J.J. Laap with just under 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter, giving the team a 13-9 lead – which ended up being the final score.
Though neither team’s top players took the field in this one, there were still some great plays on both sides. Tyler Johnson had a terrific leaping catch, Jordan Whittington continued to stand out, Omar Speights landed a couple of big hits on ball carriers and Jaylen McCollough picked off his first pass this preseason.
